APICS Canadian District is made up of the Canadian Chapters of APICS, the Association for Operations Management. The Canadian District formerly known as Region 8 of APICS and before that as the Canadian Association for Production and Inventory Control (CAPIC), is a society of over 3,500 professionals engaged in materials and operations management.

Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council

CSCSC Mission Statement:

The Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council brings together partners in the sector to develop solutions to the human resource challenges faced by stakeholders. Recognizing the vital role of the supply chain to Canada's economy, the Council is committed to enhancing the sector's ability to attract and retain workers at all levels and across the full range of functions, and to advancing the skills of those workers.

Goals

To achieve this mission, the CSCSC is undertaking activities that will ensure its:

  • representativeness – to secure sector buy-in and support
  • responsiveness – to guarantee that the Council provides leadership and value-added service to the sector, its initiatives must respond to identified industry needs and issues
  • connectedness – to establish and strengthen linkages with business and labour organizations, industry, governments and the education community
  • results-based focus – to make certain that Council activities contribute to its short-, medium- and long-term objectives
  • administrative soundness – to know that the CSCSC complies with legal, corporate and program rules and policies
  • With these goals at the core of its activities, the CSCSC aims to realize broad industry representation; be connected to supply chain sector stakeholders and responsive to the business and human resources needs of the sector; and consistently achieve results through soundly designed and managed projects.

Weber State University Online
Weber State University offers five APICS exam review courses that can be taken collectively to prepare for CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification exams or taken separately to suit the needs of the company or individual.  To receive CPIM Certification, you must pass all five of the comprehensive exams through APICS. Each course offers 2 semester hours college credit in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology.  Each course is equivalent to 30 hours class time and provides 30 points towards CPIM Certification Maintenance.  Participants should plan on 40-60 hours per course to read, study, do homework and prepare for and take quizzes and exams.
